New MLA Program – Application & Information

  • BCSLS welcomes proposals from accredited post-secondary institutions interested in launching a Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) program in British Columbia. This page outlines eligibility, submission requirements, review timelines, and resources to support your application.

  • Public and private colleges must apply for approval before being added to our list of approved programs.

    • Register for the application process. $3000 application fee (non-refundable) PER LOCATION.

    • After you have registered, you will receive a confirmation letter from BCSLS which will include all of the forms that you need to fill out and send it back to bcsls@bcsls.net

    • Your information needs to be submitted all together in one email.

    • Once your submission is received, in full, the initial review process will take place

    • The review committee may need you to revise or submit more information.

    • Upon approval of application, a site visit will be arranged.
